Course description:
Andes Mountains have determined not only the physical sphere, in the topography of an otherwise tropical region, but also environmental and even social aspects of life.
This is a class full of visual aids to enable the students to know Peru’s unique geography and the influence of this on History, and social development.
Academic objectives:
- They will learn about the rising of the Andes through the tectonic plates.
- They will acquire concepts of geology on the formation of the territories relief.
- They will learn about the decisive climatic factors as well as Altitude vs. Latitude They will understand the reason for the occupation of the region.
- They will have an introduction to human geography and its relation to geopolitics.
Achievements:
At the end of this course will have a greater appreciation of the geography as the space in which mankind is developed, and understand the influence of the physical features in any Historical and social process.
They will have a critical comparison with their own environment, and other places they have seen befote. |
